I've just figured out that the DEALER may be the bigger problem than the actual car. I have now gotten the names of 2 other independent places I can take my saab to. The local (and only) dealer has a terrible reputation on the service side. I didn't buy my car from them but have used them a bunch of times. > My next one will probably be a later model (2000-2002) SE. Many of the > issues were worked out. It's the dealer I can't stand, so I would never buy from THEM. > Chances are you have a lemon. But there are > people here more qualified to answer that than me. I've heard from others that unless you can do repair/maint. work yourself you are going to pay greater than average to maintain a Saab. $1K per year on average seems to be in the range of what others are paying. It seems to be part of the 'cost' of owning/driving a Saab.
