The starter had to be changed at the beginning of this winter. There was always something breaking down or not working. That was enough for me. > I am trying to locate someone other than the dealer to work on my car. > It's a challenge in the area I live. I would take mine to the guy who worked on my VW's over the years. What he wouldn't touch, I'd have to take to the dealer. > If you were to buy another Saab, what would you do differently? The V6 wasn't even a real Saab engine. I bought the car on a whim without knowing anything about Saabs. My next one will probably be a later model (2000-2002) SE. Many of the issues were worked out. If you do your homework, you can get a great car at a great price. Again, this is a great group for getting answers (most of the time). > And, I still can't figure out if I have a bad Saab or my experience is > actually average. No one actually answers that question. I'm spending > about $1K - $1.5K on average a year. That would be too much for me. Chances are you have a lemon. But there are people here more qualified to answer that than me. Are you ok with spending that amount?
