When you say *nothing* happens, do you mean that not only does the starter not turn, but the dash/ignition lights fail to illuminate too? That is what happened to my '97 9000. The Turn-Key-Nothing-At-All-Happens scenario turned out to be the ignition switch. A cheap and straightforward job in the end. It was a bit of pain to diagnose as it only did it very occasionally at first, before becoming a bit more regular, and finally it occurred almost all the time and became almost impossible to start. I suggest getting it fixed sooner rather than later as I left mine to the stage where the ignition switch was cutting out en route, meaning no engine, no PAS, no brake servo, an no lights at night! absgt 1997 9000 CSE 2.3t 1990 9000 2.0T
