However, these models > are sought after and can still be expensive if in good condition. > I see your point. And I know it makes sense, and apart from the seats a decent CSE 2.3 looks exactley like an aero right down to the wheels to the untrained eye. But I just love my C900 T16. Not as spacious as the LPT CDE I had as a loaner, but just about nice when I've found that sweet spot driving position (not always as easy as you think, how many different ways can you sit in a seat that hasn't changed position). It's an old one, and with tweaks and fixes that may or may not have been "Needed" (more peace of mind stuff) it has cost me all in, about £1500-1700 (stopped counting really) + petrol tax and insurance. So far I've had a year and a bit driving it, and passed 2 mots. So not bad all in. Turbo still boosts nicely and most annoying habit is jumping out of 1 and 2 when giving it a touch more throttle at very low revs. Get off the line slowly then scream it through the gears it's great, just manouvering speeds cause problems, especially when turning. Wonder if it is a mount problem rather than box wear. Still I love it, and until the rust gets the better, the turbo blows up, or the gears pack in, I shall love treating it to Optimax every week (only because it is the cheapest super locally, since all the Esso stations shut, and BP brought out Ultimate at about 3-5p a litre more than Optimax). -- Carl Robson (The poster formerly known as Skodapilot) http://www.bouncing-czechs.com
