Subject: 9000 Oxygen Sensor Replacement Problem

Last year I replaced the front oxygen sensor on my 98 9000 CSE with no hassle. It came out easily with a Crescent wrench. With 98000 mile plus I am now getting an intermittent "check engine" light again and I assume it is time to replace the rear sensor. To get at it I even bought a special wrench. With an 18 inch breaker bar it does not budge (I have broken enough things in my life to know at about what point to let up). In any case, has anyone had experience with such? Any suggestions short of taking out the converter? Dare I use a torch on the catalytic converter or would that finish it? Maybe just ignore it until the light is no longer intermittent? Constructive comments will be appreciated. R. Frist
