Carefully disassemble the remote. You may need a set of tiny screw drivers and if your near my age a jewler's loop. take out or pry out the circuit board (may be held in by screws or simply snaps in) and clean the contacts whose circuits are completed when the rubber buttons are pressed with a fresh pencil eraser. The back of the buttons have graphite bits glued to them so that when pressed they complete the circuit. Over time the graphite sloughes off and shorts out the contacts. Good luck, R.
