Subject: AM band on the radio is gone

Hello all, Just recently, I started noticing that the AM band on my radio started cutting out. At first I thought it might be overhead wires, cloud cover, rogue garage door openers - anything that could cause interference. Sunny, cloudy, hot, cold - didn't matter. First it was just the first programmed station, then all of them went. FM band is fine and so is the CD player. Haven't noticed any crackles, static or other noise, and nothing has been stuffed into the CD slot (daughter hasn't found it yet). This is a 2002 9-3 with 12K on it. Granted, the roads in Boston are a bit rough, but if it's a loose connection, wouldn't that affect both bands and the CD output? Just a bit puzzled by this one. Then again, the radio could be just another quality GM product (yes, that's sarcasm). Any thoughts or ideas appreciated. It's going in for service in a few weeks anyway, and this is on my short list of things to be fixed. -Mike
