Subject: headliner repair

We're getting ready to sell my wife's 1990 900 S and want to do some fix up first. In the last 6 months the headliner began to sag and has lately really begun to let go. I checked with a local shop and found the cost to be about $375 for them to do it. I do most of the lesser mechanical work myself and did some seat removal/spring replacement on my old Benz, but that's about the extent of my experience with interior trim. I hate to spend almost half the value of the car on fixing the headliner. I checked the Quasimotors site and see that he recommends a two part headliner kit costing about $160. I also see that JCWhitney and others sell a Headsup kit containing only fabric kit for about $35. Another company sells a kit where you replace the soft cloth headliner with rigid boards. Does anyone have experience replacing their headliner? (sounds like I'm asking about a toupee here) How difficult is it? And have you tried any of these kits? Thanks.
