You are right. The business strategy people have too much confidence in the name of a brand. It is really what is behind the name that counts, not the name itself. A Saab not designed and manufactured in Trollh”ttan is not a Saab and thus there is no reason to buy it. I remember when they started to close down Swedish shoe manufacturers about 20 years ago. Some brands were sold to factories in other countries, and this was a real disaster. the quality went down drastically an the shoes only lasted a year or two instead of the +10 years you easily got out from the original ones. Now when the Saab management even consider making a rear wheel drive Saab (anybody heard of such a stupid idea!!!!!) built on the new standard GM platform, you better start looking for other cars or try to keep the old Saabs alive as long as possible. Maybe even BMW is a better choice? -- th
