Subject: 99 or 900T header pipe?

Question about exhaust systems for the 99 Turbo. The header pipe is ... cheesy. As in Swiss. Talked to the Saab dealer, and the header pipe for '78 to '80 has been discontinued. The catalytic converter on this car has a 45 degree bend on the front of it, which seems to be the problem. So, the question is this - can I use the header pipe for a later 900, like 1981 and forward, with a cat from same? I do have the cat from my '88 and the flanges look the same. Everything from the cat back is new, MotorSports Service exhaust (which was in the trunk). Can I put a '81-ish exhaust system on an older Turbo car? Dave Hinz
