<<Hi all, There is a small amount of oil leaking from the bottom of the auto transmission of my '85 C900i. It seems to not be a big dealn as I keep topping up the oil level. Is this a common problem and should it be an easy fix? Cheers, Rob>> 1/ Hose everything off and see if you can spot the source. Leaking plug is easy - tighten it up properly. Anything else, take it as you find it & do the necessary. 2/ Commonest is probably the oil pan gasket. Replacement will fix *but* if it's the result of an impact (driveway etc) then the pan may need to be replaced too. 3/ If 1 & 2 didn't work, go back to 1 and look harder, or else surrender and go to a specialist! Good to see that you're keeping the oil level up. It's critical. Once they get low then overheat they're toast - maybe literally. Happy hunting and good luck. Cheers
