You're buying a car, not the specs....buy what feels better, not what looks better on paper. Is there a large difference in parts prices? In Canada, BMW 5 series parts are costly, not so bad for the 3 series where there are numerous after market offerings. I find Saab prices are not too bad ( with the exception of the DI cassette). Both are good vehicles each with some strengths; unless I had a strong preference for one over the other, I would let the market price/condition/availability decide for me.
