I use a Snooper S6R and its pretty good although screen can be difficult to read if not positioned properly. You are right about lasers, you have approximately 0.4 seconds to slow down to a legal speed if the detector warns of a Laser trap, since the average human reaction time is slightly more than this, you won't beat it! BTW, do not travel in the rest of Europe with a radar/laser detector or jammer. They are illegal in most other countries, and urban legend has it that in France they fine you 750 euros for possession and then make you run your own kit over! Bottom line I suppose is don't speed. IMHO, 90-100 on a clear dry motorway is not a problem, more than 20mph past a school when the kids are arriving/leaving is unforgivable, and you deserve to have your reproductive organs removed with a rusty blade...
