A litre a month of coolant is a fairly signigicant loss. Just keep an eye on the oil to make sure that it's not getting into the crankcase due to a failed head gasket. I've got a '95 900S 2.3L that has had a few small coolant leaks. The cast alumunum connector tube that goes from the water pump to the block has a couple of o-rings that have leaked. The radiator developed a small leak where one of the side-tanks attaches, and almost every connection where a hose attaches to a fitting had leaked at one time or another. As far as the cabin fan, if it's the same arrangement as my 900, it's a relatively easy to remove and replace. Just remove the wiper arms, the plastic cowl guarding below, and you should find the cabin fan and resistor pack under the cabin air filter. At that point, use a test light or voltmeter to see if power is getting to the fan motor. For my car, a replacement fan/motor is approx. $250.00 USD from eeuroparts.com (I know because I recently priced one as mine is making a burning smell. For $250, it's going to keep burning for a while ;--) Good Luck, Jim "jonesy" <nonospamks.com> wrote in message news:7fgl611f3lbjhj06vlhkb2mqi4qnlu0dm7nospamcom... > small problem ... i have a 9-3 se 2.0 lpt > > it has been getting thru a fair bit of anti-freeze/coolant over the > past few months (perhaps a litre a month), and the internal cabin fan > has started making a noise cant see an obvious leak so i have just > been topping her up for now > > > the cabin fan has just stopped working now i have no more air > circulation at all , the sid appears fully functional, adjusts to temp > , manual intervention etc but NO fan and no interior cooling or > heating > > questions: > > any ideas where to start looking first? checked out fuses etc seems > all OK > > cost of likely fix ...? how tricky to get at if it needs a new fan > replacement > > where to source ? > > is there any checking i can do myself that wont require wholesale > dismantling of dash !! > > cheers > > >
