I don't know whether the 9^3 has them, but I'll post this anyway. Most cars have some kind of rubber stops either on the tailgate or on the body. The purpose of these is to support the tailgate when it's closed. They are usually adjustable, often by turning in/out. If your car has them, you need to adjust them so that the tailgate is better supported, equally on both sides. -- Grunff
