Hmm, that's not a lot to go on (duh duh duh). Thing is, it's quite possible that it suffered severe oil starvation which wrecked the bearings, but the big ends would be really the last thing to go. You'd likely lose rings and suffer major camshaft bearing damage before that happened. There are lots of things that could cause the noise, but it's going to be very difficult to diagnose remotely. If it was my car, I'd spend an hour going over it carefully with a stethoscope, try to figure out if the noise is really internal to the engine or one of the ancillaries. -- Grunff
