Subject: Creaking Noise
1999 Saab 9-3, 87k miles
About 2 months ago when it started getting rather cold my car started
making a creaking, sqeeky noise from the very center and near the
center of the rear axel for the first 5 mins of driving. So I figure
ah its some paneling, maybe evne the exaust... You really can't hear
it unless your in the backseat, or with the windows down or of course
standing near it when it drives by (I get some weird looks because of
it).
I had a muffler shop check the exhaust and look for something (maybe
something is caught and just dragging?) They find absolutely nothing
and then we cant get te car to recreate the noise. So I thank the guy
and he says no charge and I drive off.
Now the car is doing it all the the time, I'm planning on getting a
Transmission fluid change next week, wonder if the Saab shop will have
a look for free or cheap? (I'm a college student, got an absolute steal
on the car a year ago.)
Drivetrain seems fine, no exhaust issues, no reduction in power, no
mechanical breaks....
Suggestions?
