I couldn't get mine to work either, I have a '99 9-3 with the 6pack CD 
changer. I rtfm-ed a few times and I'm pretty sure I followed the 
instructions well, no luck.

I wonder if it's only meant to work either for a higher end audio system 
  or a higher end Saab model (either 9-3 or 9-5 line).
