It doesn't matter because the whole mechanism is underneath the seat not in the seat back. The OP will need to slide the seat forward, unfasten the rear bolts, slide it back, unfasten the front bolts then lift the entire seat up and out or just tip it in place if you want to work on it inside the car. -- -Fred W
