Subject: Aircon Problem on Saab 9000 CSE
I have a 1995 Saab 9000 CSE 2.3 Turbo. I bought it back in Jan 06.
I've noticed a problem with the climate control. It works fine as long
as the outside temperature is below about 22C. However, above that
temperature it starts to fail - so that the fan still blows but the
cooling effect is lost. It also tends to cut out when I'm crawling
through traffic (which happens a lot - I live in London).
It may not be related, but I have a temperature indicator on the
dashboard and when I'm in slow-moving traffic the temperature goes up
and up. A couple of weeks ago I saw about 45C on the dashboard when
the outside temp was about 30C.
I took the car to an independent Saab specialist a few days ago and
asked them to check it over. They said that the temperature sensor had
been dislodged so they put that back in its proper place. They then
checked the aircon system over and said that there was no fault in it.
However, the problem remains so I'm not sure what to do next.
Does anyone have any advice/suggestions?
Thanks,
Alan.
