What would you > say about putting a 16 year old in one of these? What do I need to know > about these cars? If I recall right, the 900S (of your vintage) came in two engine specifications - the light pressure turbo in Europe (at 145 BHP) and the normally aspirated engine at 130 (ish) BHP in the US/CA. Either way .. Yes! It's a safe car - Your child will be very safe in it. Be aware that in either specification 128/145 BHP it is a quick car for a "kid" but it will instil a a sense of good driving in a new driver, due to its size and stature. If the kid crashes it, well ... It's not the car for them (yet), but I reckon it's a good car to start out with if you can afford the insurance. Paul 1989 900 Turbo S http://saab.go.dyndns.org/
