Other maintenance problems get fixed when they arise, e.g. bulbs, brakes, wipers. The car is annually MOT'ed and any other items discovered get fixed. This completely bypasses the dealer service. The problem with dealer service is that you don't know what you get for your money other than the bill. There was an older lady in UK Big Brother, she had made some money in her life and didn't avoid slipping out that she drove a black Porsche 911 as a status symbol. She then proudly boosted that she paid 2000 GB Pounds ~4000 US Dollar for the annual service LOL!
