Check that engine is running cleanly with no hesitation or idle problems. Saab 9000 are extremely well made cars, so it will just go on. Dealer service is expensive, but there are independents and you can find parts over the internet. Cheap luxury motoring. Hope it's a CS/CSE, i don't think Saab made CD/CDE in 1997?
