Yeah, they are definately quirky--if I were going to buy a Japanese car it would be a Subaru. In fact if I still lived in the Rockies where 4x4 is a real necessity, I wouldn't consider anything other than a Suby. I was selling Subarus went the WRX first came out. I grabbed the first one off the truck and took it out for a blast--I blew off some guy in a Z28. You should have seen the look on his face. We had a Turbo Legacy from the early 90's in stock for a while and I had a lot of fun surprising people with that too. I want to like them, but they just don't seem to have the personality (for lack of a better word) that European cars do. You just don't get the same emotional bond for some reason. When I had my car business, when it came time to pick out a car to drive for the weekend it was almost always something European and not a Subaru. And to be honest I'm not entirely sure exactly what the quality is and why I get so attached to cars like Saabs.
