I think your problem may have been having two washers - mine only has a single copper washer. SInce the washer is unique to the plug you have just use the one that came with the plug. As far as I know the plugs should be the same, Aero or not, but you can check one of the Subie web sites for part numbers like the one I linked below. Those washers are meant to be tossed, not reused. They are copper so the soft metal forms a seal.
