The ONLY (easy) way to measure gas mileage is to record mileage driven (from a full tank), then fill up the tank, and record the amount of gallons added. Then do the math: miles/gallons.
I'm not sure how you can easily do this from a non-full tank of gas....
You do realize that the gas gauge isn't 100% accurate right? I can drive ~50 miles before the indicator gets under "F". Just b/c the gas gauge is at 1/2 tank doesn't mean you have exactly a half tank left.....
