Overall a very easy vehicle to work on, so far.

Recently started accepting work on 9-2X vehicles. Previously just referred them to the local Subaru Indy to have stuff taken care of simply because they are not a "Saab".

Client who has an '07 9-3SS, asked me to do a major service and give a comprehensive overlook of his daughters '05 9-2X 2.5. Since it was a good existing client, figured I would give it a go (and after talking to some Saab dealer tech friends who were trained on the 9-2X). They were correct, nothing overly complicated. Vehicle only had 50k so was far from due for the 105k timing belt, but pulled cover and inspected belt anyway. Ended up replacing serpentine belts, tensioner, front and rear pads w rotors, spark plugs, filters and fluids. Actually a very simple vehicle, quite a bit simpler to work on than 9-3 and 9-5s. Enough room in the non turbo engine bay to not feel cramped (think c900 vs 9-3SS 2.8L v6).

Found a great online resource for 2005 models, the Impreza factory service manual in PDF format. Has all the service schedules for the 2.0 and 2.5L engines plus all the repair steps for about everything.

I still much prefer a 9-5, or 9-3 but can say the Saabaru seems to hold up well. In her first 50k, she has only done oil changes and a battery...thats it!
