I have not done anything yet. Due to health problems I can no longer do the work myself, so everything costs big money.

The thermostat seems to be working fine. It keeps the coolant temp right in the middle on the gauge during cooler weather. But turn the A/C on, or drive on the highway, or go uphill for say a quarter mile and the temp climbs rapidly towards * A/C off *, then * STOP, overheating *. So I'm thinking the water pump has been chewed to death by the Dexcool sludge. Speaking of the dexcool I showed someone the sludge, and what do you know, no sludge to be found. Maybe it got dislodged from the upper radiator hose the first time I pulled it.

This car has so many problems. Window regulators, Immobilzer errors, Steering lock malfunctions, bad steering links, power steering pump leak, and now possible water pump failure. I just don't know if I want
to throw money at it. On the other hand the engine is silky smooth, the
tranny is fine, and the heater and A/C work great (before the overheating problem).
