Those were not generalized suggestions of what could go wrong on that car. Those were specific problems that I have seen and repaired on that model/year Saab with that mileage.
I could also add steering lock module (SCL), ignition switch (ISM), ICM (if someone has jump started the car improperly), CIM and a few more things.
But all this is found if you search this board. Known failures has been posted about for years here.
And for instance, if it had been an automatic transmission, then I would have listed that as well since it was very common for the transmission to go bad due to a failing radiator.
I would probably suggest a 2001-02 9-3 in good condition in that price range instead of a 2003-04 9-3 in good condition all depending on the inspection and what the repair invoices says.
If the 03-04 have had all the above items replaced, it could be a great car but so could the old 9-3 as well.
Many and most electronic modules needs to be mated to the car with the Saab specific scantool so you would have to have that tool and knowledge or find a shop that has it for those repairs on the newer 9-3.
Right now, key's and remotes are plentiful but it is only a year or two ago where there were none to be had and when some showed up, they were selling on e-bay for $400.00-500.00
