I've had an 2003 Linear with Sport package since new, now at 180,000 miles.
Here is what to watch for, at least what I have had to change
- window regulators, if they sound funny, they are on their way out
- ONLY 2003 models have a Secondary Air Pump for emissions, and when they go it is a few hundred bucks. The check valve is an easy fix. Not an issue for 2004s
- upper rear control arm bushings wear out, need to change the entire upper control arm
- blower motors and blower motor resistors
- make sure you have two key fobs, if you only have one and you lose it, big issues
- front door lock actuators are prone to failure
- cracked front springs , there was a recalll several years ago
- rotting weatherstrip on cabin air filter housing, leads to water in the cabin
- i am on my third headlight level sensor, they are mounted low in the chassis and are easily taken out
Body and paint hold up very well, corrrosion is usually not an issue
Motors are robust, I change my oil every 6500 miles, anf it doesnt burn a drop.
Exhaust, suspension, HVAC seem to be okay, as are most of the electrics.
I would stay away from p early build 2003s.
I also have a 5 Speed manual, with no issues.
