I had a bad ignition coil and the check engine light would flash under hard acceleration because unburned fuel was reaching the catalytic converter. I would get a stumble, not a vibration. If you are not getting a check engine light than I would say no. You said the wheel vibrates at idle/acceleration, that is why I think its a balance shaft/chain issue. Pretty common issue with the balance chain tensioneror guides failing. But if the idle is swinging all over the place at idle, then it is probably a vacuum leak.
