I haven't racked up that many miles on my 9-3 to know what problems lay in wait but as for reliable I'm finding my 01 9-5 aero is becoming most reliable. Got the car 65,000 on it and now its in upward if 110,000 never once did it up and stop running. Your right these cars aren't true Swede speed but even still I can't count how many times my 88spg put me on the side of the road, may it have been the hall burning out in the dist. Or the ground wire disconnected from the alt. of course if these issue that happened was easily fixed on the road side. I would gather the same would be true with the 9-3 & 9-5 only deference is personally I know everything there is to know about a c900 and would know where to look to fix the problem but as for the 9-3 I'd be like you, calling a tow truck same for my 9-5 although I'm getting pretty confident that I could identify a problem it would have and fix it road side. All cars break down and when they do its a major inconvenience but then when was it ever convenient for it to break.
