Thanks Anders.
Yes, that is the other part of what I'm not thrilled about. I had asked the dealer to call me when they determined which cylinder was misfiring so I could determine how to proceed. (No check engine light).
They called me, but only after they had replaced the coil and put everything back together. I didn't know if it was one or more than one coil misfiring and if it was front or rear. Had I had the chance to discuss with them further I would have had them do #1 and #3, even at their high coil price. Half the bill was labor charges. And they got stealer MSRP on the part which can be bought on Amazon for $29. I guess I will need to be even more clear the next time something like this happens. I would have also had them do the purge valve at the same time. In this case the stealer didn't do as I asked and actually cost themselves some business.
To add insult, I pulled the logo top engine shroud and found they did not put the wires back exactly how they should go and the wire that should have been held in place by two clips for what looks like an oxygen sensor was not in the clips designed to hold it and instead was pushed against them and being cut.
This dealer is a "good" dealer and has been around for ages in a high volume market so I was a bit surprised by the whole thing. They service several SAABs for my family and recently there has been a shift downhill I think. It might be time to look for a good indy around here.
