B0195 FAN BLOWER ROTOR BLOCKED

My A/C stopped working this afternoon, in that the Blower would not work and even at highway speed the A/C would not trickle out the vents. The car was stopped and started many times throughout the day and I even went over to the cabin air filter to see it I could move the fan blades manually, there was absolutely no debris in there at all and it didn't seem seized.
Anyways, later that night I hooked up my Tech2 and got "B0195 FAN BLOWER ROTOR BLOCKED". I cleared the code and all of a sudden the fan magically started working! My theory is that there must be a software update in my 2006 9-3 that prevents the resistor pack from burning itself out. Just shuts the fan down.
My older 2003 9-3 had to have their resistor packs replaced and when the fan stopped working on those cars a little flick of the blower blades always got it spinning again, but to the detriment of the resistor pack since the fan was stuck and still getting power.
So I wanted to share this information. If you get a B0195 code just check if there is free play in your blower motor first, then unplug your battery to clear the DTC's it may very well start working again.
