The front muffler on my 2006 9-3SC 2.0T has been "unpeeling" its outer layers for some time now and it's getting obvious that total failure is not far off. Considering the car is 8-1/2 years old and has 125,000 miles I think it's best to replace everything after the cat and be done with it. Also it will be a much easier DIY to do a complete replacement vs. replacing sections one at a time.
I've owned the car since new and plan to keep it another 5 years. On my last car (1995 900S) I always used OEM Saab exhaust parts but a complete system consisting of flex-pipe, front & rear mufflers and clamps will set me back just over $600 from saabpartsonline. I priced out a complete Walker exhaust from rockauto at about $275. Both prices include shipping.
Anyone have any experience with Walker exhausts on their 9-3? I'm confident that if I go the OEM route I'll never have to touch the exhaust for as long as I own the car but I have no idea how the Walker system will fare.
