I've tested the passenger's side seat with the same battery and it works in all directions. The driver's seat was working before we took it out. The driver's seat has two extra wires per motor for what seems to be I-BUS logic. This makes my test of the passenger's seat somewhat invalid, since the systems are not really apples to apples.

I'm wondering if the whole I-BUS thing has something to do with only the fwd/aft movement working when powering connector H40-1 pins 37 and 38? According to the wiring diagram, there is also an I-BUS input expected on pin 23 of connector H40-1 that feeds pin 39 of the seat control module.
