I also have a 2004 linear and also have done quite a few minor interior upgrades. Here's what I've done:
Auto dimming mirror with compass and homelink garage opener (plug and play)
Navigation head unit (ICM3), didn't actually do the dvd unit however the wiring is there in the trunk. Map disc updates were not available after 2006.
Auxiliary Jack input into the CD player
Swap out ash tray (below CD player) for the 05-06 storage tray
Install wood trim
A newer radio would work however in order for the stations to store and skip right (NXT button on steering wheel) you would have to marry it to the car with a TECH2.
About the climate control, I heard it won't be possible. The connectors are different and your car wouldn't have the temp sensors installed. If you manage to figure out otherwise let me know.
You could also put in fog lights, you would need the TECH2 To activate the feature.
