I encountered the following error when trying to add keys to a recently purchased 2003 9-3 with a just purchased clone Tech 2:

Error code <-2>: SSA inconsistent
ECU id: 961806336

scode.c, line 466

The car was purchased used in August. The error was encountered when the Add Key menu option was checking security access. I am lost, any help would be appreciated. FYI, I have tried reading first (almost 7 hours and hundreds of posts). These are my questions/random thoughts:

1. Is this a problem with an unmarried replacement ECU?
2. Is it a problem with security access or lack thereof?
3. Is it because the software on the card in the Tech 2 is 148.000 and TIS2000 only has versions "135.000, 136.000 and 44.000"?

We are down to one key and I can't let my son take the car back to school unless we have another key (he lost the second key a couple weeks ago).
