IMHO, both models you are considering have issues that you need to fully understand and appreciate before you make a decision.
The Aero V6 engine is extremely difficult and expensive to service because it is packaged too tightly in the engine compartment. Additionally, the plastic coolant recovery bottles are prone to rupture. Saab replaced them with a redesigned model of a differnt plastic compound but those too are failing (from postings here). The only bottle that doesn't rupture is the stainless steel model offered by GenuineSaab but you lose the quick visual check capability as SS is not transparent or translucent.
Owners of the XWD models are reporting problems with the Haldex system. Parts are nearly unobtanium and some reported costs for repairs are astronomic.
Do your own research as I don't own either model and my impressions of these two choices may be improperly influenced by only a few worrisome posts.
