Black plastic squirrel cage with metal balancing clips. Hub of squirrel cage has the same design as the factory OEM fan, almost a floral inspired design of spokes rather than a solid hub.
Where is the failed seal located that you mentioned? Our car does have the thin plastic shield above the filter housing that the earlier models lacked. We have never noticed any water in the cabin. Sounds like I better get a tube of window weld before doing this job.
