Like you, I broke a bolt in the rear hub upon dismantling. And many more were very rusty.
I did manage to remove the broken bolt from the hub using an easy-out and some heat. After that, i used a 12x1.5 tap to clean the threads of all the 20 holes. That was it.
If you can't do this, and if your car has some mileage, I would just replace the wheel bearing assembly. That way you'll get a new hub, a new bearing and a new ABS/ESP sensor for not much more than the price and time of an helicoil.
