passenger engine mount installation

My passenger engine mount is torn. Not leaking, no 'goo', but has a few tears in the rubber. I presume it's time to replace. Found it while replacing serpentine belt. However, my question is how to align it. The bolts and oversized holes on the mount have so much slop it must allow 1/2 to 3/4 inch play fore/aft.
Is there an installation procedure?
Car is an '04 ARC convertible with 160K.
Thanks!
Joe
