New shift knob is huge Posted by turrbo [Email] (#8) [Profile/Gallery] (more from turrbo) on Sun, 2 Aug 2015 12:53:19 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The shift knob on my '04 Aero convertible has been popping off for the last year or two, so I shimmed it with some paper and it's been fine. But the leather is coming apart and it looks like crap, so I got a new one from Eeuro.
The part numbers are the same on the insde and the unit looks physically exactly the same, and I attached my shift pattern emblem with no problem, but the hole that my shift lever should fit in is huge. Like, there is literally no pressure and there is even some movement.
I bought the knob over a year ago and got lazy and never installed it, so I don't think I'd be able to send it back. Is this normal for a new knob? Is there anything I could shim this with? There's no way I could even epoxy it or use loctite (my plan), because the sides literally don't touch.
