Per the WIS, all access is from below. I also found a posting by Anders wherein he says he removes the crankshaft pulley to remove the tensioner. That step is not mentioned in the WIS but with the car already in the air on a hoist and a big impact wrench handy it might be easier to R&R the crankshaft pully than to lower the hoist enough to remove the tensioner from the top side.
I don't know if my old hydraulic jack can lift the entire front of the car. If so, I do have new jack stands to keep the car safely in the air. Would still need a special tensioner tool though. Might be easier to make an appointment with the local Saab specialist.
