I used a Craftsman slim head 3/8 ratchet as my tensioner release tool. It fits nicely from below, clears the frame, and the handle is not too long like other purpose made tools that whack the frame or suspension before you get enough swing out of the tool. I changed out my tensioner without removing crank shaft pulley or removing engine mount. Search this BB for "Craftsman slim head" and or "Serpentine Belt Replacement Tips" to find an older post of mine with more details. Another poster also found my technique worked for them.
