I have used both standard 55 watt halogens, and 100 watt halogens. The lenses were pretty clouded when I started, but I polished them up with a 3M kit. What's strange, is that the high beams are fine. I haven't had a chance to put a voltmeter to the bulb sockets yet, since my girlfriend is driving it and works hours opposite from mine. For what it's worth, I'm a well trained former Saab tech. I have lots of experience with lighting. I'm really thinking that something related to the DRL's is my problem. Mine are on while driving (even with the light switch in the off position) so I think it's related to that. On my '00 9-3, I could turn them off. It's not obvious to me how to do that on the newer car, but there must be a way....
Thanks for the input!!!
