I had trouble generating enough force with just the battery terminal/wiper arm tool. I took the nut off, put the puller on and tightened it as much as possible. When that didn't pop off the arm (it didn't the first time I took off the arms), I found that gently tapping the side of the arm with a hammer would break the arm loose.
The next time I had to take the arm off, I only needed the puller.
