My Turbo-X (2008 9-3 with 6 speed but some other gizmos) has intermittent hard shifting into 1st and 2d. Not necessarily related, sometimes there's a tinny rattle when the clutch pedal is depressed, doing things like exiting a drive through (window open and from a dead stop. The hard shifting seems to occur on hot days when driving for a while, particularly in city traffic. It's hard to downshift in 2d and 1st -- as if an old time "H" gate were blocked, or if synchro were out (had an Austin Healey with no synchro on 1st and a Ford F2 with no synchro at all). Seems to go away after the car sits.
If cable adjustment, how does a DIY mechanic get to the cables on a 2008 6 speed? (Nick posted something on popping out of gear -- the opposite -- a while ago, but I think it was a different car)
