Faulty wiper stalk?

The rear washer on my sportcombi is being activated by even the slightest motion of the rear wipe/wash switch (like touching it 90° to the activation direct or jiggling it). I'm inclined to think that the switch in the stalk is faulty versus the wiring inside the steering column.
Anyone else have this issue?
