Hi,
I am trying to find some advice for my Aunt's 2008 SS. Am a semi- frequent poster on the C900 board and am at a loss as to what to tell her to do.
So, as she lives in South NJ, there are no Saab dealers or indy shops anywhere near her. A friend either owns or runs the local Honda dealership which services all makes of cars. She brought the car in as the turn signals no longer operated correctly. They diagnosed it as a faulty steering column CIM and lever. Dealership sourced a new CIM from Orio and I was able to source a new correct lever as they have been NLA for some time.
Everything went back together fine but they called her today and said the key will it start the car as there is a computer "issue". Gave her a loaner to use.
My guess is that they do not have a Tech II or if they do have one, it does not have the Saab software.
Big questions are.....
What is needed with a Tech II to correctly update the computer to recognize the new CIM? Should both keys be present when updating and, is there anything else she should purchase to get the update done correctly?
Thanks to anyone who reply's!!!
